Death | 15 March 1949 | Obituary Mrs. Emma Pearson CLIFTON: The death has occurred of it well known and highly respected Nobby resident In Mrs Emma Dora Pearson, wife of Mr Peter Pearson, of Nobby. The late Mrs Pearson was born at Westbrook in 1880, and spent her early life there. She attended school at the Drayton State school, and later came to reside In the Greenmount district. She was a devoted member of the Presbyterian Church, and was elected to the office of treasurer of the Presbyterian Ladles Guild over 21 years ago and held that office at the time of her death. In 1947 she was one of the delegates appointed to represent the Nobby Guild at the conference held at Alexandra Headlands. During the two great wars the late Mrs Pearson took an active part in all matters associated with patriotic and kindred activities. She is survived by her husband, who has been the recipient of widespread sympathy in his bereavement. As a mark of respect to the memory of the late Mrs Pearson, the flag at the Nobby State School was flown at half mast following her death and on the day of her funeral. Services at the Nobby Presbyterian Church, and later at the graveside at the Nobby, cemetery, were conducted by, Rev. F. Leconby. A quiet wedding was solemnised at St. James's Cathedral on the 7th March at 6 p.m., when Miss Annie Harper, eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. A bouquet of white and pale pink roses, eucharlst lilies and trails of atepha notis tied with satin bows completed her toilette. The matron of honor. Mrs. Q. MacLeod, wore a becoming frock of powder blue georgette and a hat of silk basket straw to tone, and carled a bouquet of pale pink roses. Mr, G. Cochrane attended as best man.
