About three weeks ago Mrs Treweek, while on a visit to Melbourne with a daughter, was attacked with influenza, to which she finally succumbed. The deceased lady, who was eighty years of age, had resided at Newlyn for 40 years. The family are all grown up and are well known residents of the district. Burial	26 October 1899	Creswick Advertiser , Saturday, October 28th, 1899 The funeral of the late Mrs Joseph Treweek, senr, on Thursday was attended by a very large number of friends from all parts of the district. Messrs J Ross, G May, J Williams, W Tyzzer, J Nance and J Stephens acted as pall-bearers, and the coffin bearers were Messrs John, Joseph and Victor Hutchins, William, Edward and Ernest Pascoe, grandsons of the deceased lady. The Rev JH Ingham conducted the service at the grave, and Messrs A Pasco and Sons were the undertakers. The deceased, who was widely known and highly respected, was the mother of Messrs Joseph, Benjamin and Nicholas Treweek, Mrs J Hutchins (Newlyn), Mrs Pascoe (Melbourne), Mrs I Robinson (Allendale), Mrs Geo Clarke (Ballarat), Mrs AG Wallace (Kingston), and there are over 60 grandchildren.
