Marriage18 May 1946WOODSIDE —ORANGE BLOSSOMS— Tidswell—May A pretty wedding was solemnised by Rev. Swan at St. Mark's Anglican church on Saturday, 18 May, the contracting parties being Helen Alma May, only daughter of Mr. W. May. of Rockhampton, Queensland, and the late Mrs. May, and Jack, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. K. Tidswell, of Hahndorf, and late of Woodside. The bride, who was given away by Mr. W. C. Catt, looked charming in a gown of heavy white crepe, with tight fitting bodice and long full skirt. She wore a long embossed tulle veil held in place with a coronet of orange blossom and carried a sheaf of lovely mixed white flowers. The bride's only attendant was Miss Betty Farley (cousin of the bridegroom) who was frocked in a lovely shade of pink heavy crepe, the bodice of tulle being beautifully appliqued with leaves. She wore a head-dress of tulle with short veil and carried a sheaf of pink and blue flowers. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. N. K. Tidswell. Mrs. H. R. K. Tidswell, groom's mother, chose a black frock and coat with hat to tone and added a red shoulder spray. Mrs. W. C. Catt wore a brown tweed costume with hat to tone and her shoulder spray was of autumn tones. After the ceremony a small reception for immediate relatives was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Catt. Woodside, where the Rev. Swan proposed the toast of the happy couple. The groom responded. The lovely two-tiered wedding cake was cut by the bride, who chose for travelling a grey striped costume with hat and accessories to toneWoodside, South Australia, AustraliaG1
