Marriage | 7 June 1952 | The Central Methodist Church was the setting for the midafter noon wedding on Saturday. June 7, of Ella, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Jurss, Cavendish Street, Pimlico, and Vincent, sec- ond youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Jones, Stagpole Street, West End. The bride wore traditional white, the wedding gown being created from Swiss organdi hand- embroidered with a bow and for- get-me-not motif. It featured puffed sleeves and a moulded bodice with a sweetheart neckline finished with a dainty self pleat- ed frilling. The extremely pretty skirt billowing from a pointed waistline surmounted taffetas and was contrived of double tiers, which were scalloped-edged and graduated to a point, centre back — the bottom tier extending to a slight train. The gown was balanced with a two tiered em- broidered tulle veil graced with its fan-pleated tiara finished with side clusters of orange blossom. The bride's bouquet was a sheaf of stately white gladioli. The Misses Grace and Freda Jurss, (sisters of the bride) made an at- tractive pair in bridesmaidlng gowns of Swiss organca emboss- ed with a lily design in elfin blue and carnation pink, respectively. The bouffant skirts swayed over matching taffetas and were teamed with neat bodices and puffed sleeves. Dainty self- plainted rouleau formed the trim- ming for the sweetheart necklines and firm fitting peaked waistlines. Shoulder-length tulle veils went with their matching skull caps, offset on either side with carna- tions. Both 'maids carried a sheaf bouquet of pink gladioli. The brdie's niece, petite Barbara Geary, made a dainty flower girl In her petal pink satin frock de- signed with a sweetheart neck line given a self-plaiting trim to correspond with the finish of the waistline. The skirt featured side panniers and a bustle bow. Barbara's toning skull cap had tulle finishing It and the silver basket she carried was filled with pink baby roses. The page boy, who wore a double breasted blue satin suit, was the young nephew of the 'groom — Ronald Turpin. The 'groom was supported by Messrs Keith Ritchie (best man) and Neville Jones (brother of 'groom) as groomsman. A recep- tion followed at the Railway Can- teen hall. The bride's mother chose grey sheer for her frock allied with black accessories and the 'groom'a mother favoured a pink floral gown. She also added black accessories. Both wore a pink corsage of flowers. The newly-weds have left to spend their honeymoon holiday at Ar- cadia, Magnetic Island. Out of town visitors for the Jones— Jurss wedding Included the 'groom's grandmother, Mrs. M. Walsh of Ayr, and his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. D. Curtis (also of Ayr). Mr. D. Jones was a guest from Armidale, N.S.W. | Central Methodist Church, Townsville, Queensland, AustraliaG |
