| Death | 14 May 2007 | Marcia was born in Hanford, CA, on March 5, 1940, to Orral and Marjorie Luke. She was the second of three children: one older sister, Joan Luke, and one younger brother, Larry Luke. Marcia grew up in Bakersfield, CA and attended Bakersfield High School and Bakersfield College. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University. Marcia worked as an elementary school teacher for over thirty years. Marcia married Steve Merta on April 1, 1966. They had four daughters, Michele, Kari, Debbie, and Jennifer; and seven grandchildren, Ian, Austin, Taylor, Luke, Adam, Mateo, and Isabella. Marcia is survived by her husband, Steve; their four daughters and loving husbands; their seven beautiful grandchildren; and her brother and sister, Joan and Larry Luke. Marcia is preceded in death by her parents, Orral and Marjorie Luke. Marcia was a loving wife, wonderful mother, amazing grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. A memorial service will be held for Marcia on Friday, May 18th, at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on McCray Road, in Mountain Mesa, CA. A graveside service will be held on the same day at 2:30 p.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Panorama Drive, in Bakersfield, California. Marcia Jane Merta Mar. 5, 1940 - May 14, 2007.
