| Birth | 27 May 1902 | To William Stagg and Emma Wain(e) | Queensland, AustraliaG |
| Marriage | 12 August 1925 | Stagg— Coutts. A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated in St. Luke's Church, Toowoomba, on Wednesday, 12th inst., the contracting parties being Norman Leslie Stagg, third son of Mr and Mrs W. Stagg, of Kupunn, to Eileen Leonora Coutts, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. H. Coutts, of Loudoun. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother (Mr R. Coutts), who subsequently gave her away, looked charming in a gown of satin la tosca, made in tunic effect, and heavily beaded and stitched with silver thread. The waist was finished with a silver tissue rose. Her tulle veil, which was kindly lent by Mrs E. Slaughter was arranged in mop-cap effect and finished at the sides with orange blossoms. She carried an exquisite bouquet of jonquils, lilies and sweet peas tied with white satin streamers. She was attended by one bridesmaid, Miss V. McPherson, and her little niece and nephew as train-bearers. The bridesmaid was frocked in mastic crepe de chene made in tunic effect, the tunic being finished with a number of small buttons, and she carried a bouquet of white lilies and wore the bridegroom's gift, a gold armlet studded with sapphires. Her little niece (Miss Eileen Coutts) wore a frock of pale blue georgette over a satin slip finished at the waist with tiny frills, and carried a basket of sweet peas and jonquils and wore a gold bangle, the gift of the bridegroom. Master Roy Coutts wore a tunic suit of white satin over a blouse of cream crepe de chene and held a silver crook on which was tied a bunch of sweet peas with white satin streamers, also the gift of the bridegroom. Mr E. Stagg attended his brother as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Cafe Alexandra, only relatives and a few intimate friends of the bride and bridegroom being present. The feature of the bride's table was a beautiful three-tier wedding cake. Mrs Coutts (mother of bride) wore a frock of black satin brocaded morocain, made crossover style and finished at waist with a jet cabachon. The bride's present to the bridegroom was a set of gold studs and gold initialed sleeve links, and to the bride the bridegroom gave a xylonite toilet set. On leaving for Coolangatta, where the honeymoon is being spent, the bride travelled in a frock of silver grey brocaded satin morocain, made in tunic effect. The tunic was finished at sides with small pleats and she wore a small grey hat to match. | Queensland, AustraliaG |
