1919 | Last Thursday evening the residence of Mr. and. Mrs. C. Weinheimer, Urangan, was the scene, of the ''welcome home to valiant ' Gunner George Weinheimer; and Trooper V. H. McDonald, son and son-in-law of the lady and gentleman referred to. The house was nicely decorated with bunting, lanterns, and flowers sweetly arranged, causing a pleasing effect upon the assemblage. The repast provided by mine hostess and her daughter was all that could be desired and ample justice was done the good things provided. A resident of the locale was voted to the chair and extended a hearty welcome home to the brave lads who had assisted the Allies in the warfare against the common foe. Private McDonald presented his wife's parents with a gold brooch and set of sleeve studs, the gifts being highly appreciated by the recipients.
