A wedding of interest to a large circle of friends was celebrated at St Paul's Church of England Roma on November 18 when Mr. Albert Harold Whip (younger son of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Whip Croydon) was married to Miss Alma Mae (Poppy) Walduck (younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Walduck Roma) The Rev. A. F. Eva officiated, and Mr. Lionel Johnston presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, was frocked in ivory crepe de Chine, made on straight lines, with French draperies adorned with seed pearls while a bow of ivory satin fell in graceful lines from the back. Her embroidered silk net veil was worn in fan effect, finished at the sides with orange blossoms and arranged to form a train. She carried a bouquet of lilies and roses finished with tulle and white streamers The bridesmaids - Misses Mimi Walduck (sister of the bride) and Emerald Sparks-were frocked in mauve French crepe de Chine with coffee guipure lace trimmings finished with bows of salmon velvet ribbon at the side. Each maid wore a tulle cap trimmed with mauve and salmon flowers and velvet ribbon to tone. They carried bouquets of mauve and pink columbines and lilies and each wore on onyx ring, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. Norman Whip (brother of the bridegroom) carried out the duties of best man, and Mr Fred Walduck (brother of the bride) acted us groomsman. After the ceremony the brides parents entertained about 70 guests at a reception in the Parish Hall, the decorations being carried out in black and gold (the bridegroom's colours). Mrs. J. J. Walduck received her guests wearing a gown of floral crepe de Chine. Mr. and Mrs. Whip subsequently left by the mail train for the South where the honey-moon will be spent. The bride wore a frock of lavender silk Marocain em- broidered with sea beads, and a hat to match.
