Conaghan Mrs Emma Conaghan, who died at Rockhampton recently, was one of the first residents of Marmor, and later a resident of Gracemere for 30 years until she came to the city to live. Mrs Conaghan, who was 78 years of age, was born at Rockhampton and spent her early life in the Springsure and Rolleston districts. She married Mr Peter Conaghan, a member of a pioneering family at Gracemere, who settled there in 1862. He was employed for many years in the Marmor limestone quarry. He died in 1916. Mrs Conaghan's father, the late Mr Phillip McKenna, was at one time licensee of the Royal Hotel at Mt Morgan. MAY VICTORIA RALEIGH The death occurred yesterday afternoon at her residence, "Cun- gegong," Frampton, of Mrs. May Victoria Raleigh; aged 59, wife of Mr. Timothy John Raleigh. The family later moved to Sydney, where she was married thirty-one years ago. Since her marriage, she has been a resi- dent of Cootamundra district, and was devotedly attached to her home and family. During the past few weeks, she had been nursed by her daugh- ters at her home.
