| Marriage | 3 October 1925 | WEDDING. MITCHELL— BRAY. The Central Methodist Church. Charters Towers was the scene of a pretty wedding on October 3rd, when Violet Genevieve, second daughter of Mr and Mrs K. H. Bray, Mosman Park, Charters Towers, was married to David, youngest son of the late Mr Thomas Mitchell and Mrs Daddow, Towers-street, Charters Towers. The Rev. Pittendreigh performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a frock of ivory marlette, heavily beaded in silver and white, and finished with diamante cabachon. Her tulle veil, kindly lent by a friend, was worn with a coronet of orange blossoms. A shower bouquet of white roses and sweets peas, looped with tulle and rib- bon, completed her toilette. Miss Sadie Bray attended her sister as bridesmaid, and wore a dainty frock of two-toned pink and blue georg- ette. Her cap of silver metaline was finished with hand-made roses at side. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses, looped with tulle and streamers. Mr Will Mitchell car- ried out the duties of best man, while Miss May Mitchell presided at the organ. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the re- sidence of the bride's parents. The brides' mother wore a frock of black brocaded crepe-de-shene finished with frinpe, while the bridegroom's mother wore a frock of black brocaded moro- cain finished with touchings of cham- pagne. On leaving for the honey- moon, which was spent at Cairns and Kuranda, the bride wore a travelling frock of saxe blue morocain, her smart black hat showing touches of gold tissue. | Queensland, AustraliaG |
