| Obituary | 7 June 1952 | HOCKEY By the passing of Mr. A. ('Pop)' Bray, whose death took place in Brisbane last week, the Townsvllle Hockey Association has lost one of its old stalwarts. A very keen follower, and one who possessed a great knowledge of the game, Mr. Bray did yeoman service when hockey was first introduced to Townsville. He was official coach of the Falcons Club, and after he was unable to take an active part, his interest in the game never waived, and he was always an interested spectator at all fixtures each Saturday afternoon, until illness finally claimed him. His son, Tom, after relinquishing the playing field, has in the past few years carried on in his late father's footsteps, being a selector of the Townsville Hockey Association, and his coaching ability has carried the Commercial Club to many successes. The deepest sympathy of all members of the Townsvllle Hockey Association is extended to the Bray family in their bereavement. | Townsville, Queensland, AustraliaG |
