| Marriage | 21 February 1944 | LINDSAY-WALSH
At St Paul's Cathedral at 7 o'clock yesterday evening the marriage was celebrated of Ellen, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Walsh, Bolsover Street, Rockhampton, to Private Ray Lindsay, third son of Mr and Mrs J. W. Lindsay, Salt Lake City, Utah. Canon J. E. Dale officiated. The bride was given away by her father, and was attended by Miss Phyllis McEwan as bridesmaid. Sergeant R. Johnson, USA, was best man. The bride wore a very dainty frock of white organdi over satin, featuring a buttercup top with a sweetheart neck- line, and a very full skirt. Her tulled veil was held in place with a coronet of matching flowers, and she carried an ivory prayer book with streamers of stephanotis, lent by Mrs W. Reid. The bridesmaid's frock of blue organdi over satin was made in the princes style, and she wore a small flowered hat to tone. The bouquet which she car- ried was of pink frangipanni and step- hanotis. Mrs Walsh, the bride's mother, wore a frock in black and white ton- ings and she added black accessories. After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was held at the home of the bride's parents. A feature of the de- corations was a wedding cake decorated by Mr Colin Rigby. When leaving to spend the honey- moon at Yeppoon, the bride wore a pretty grey and mauve silk crepe frock and a mauve hat. | St Paul's Cathedral, Rockhampton, Queensland, AustraliaG |
