| Marriage | 12 April 1916 | Crosthwaite-Hadkins
The marriage of Miss Constance A. Hadkins, youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Hadkins, Rockhampton, to Mr. R. G. Crosthwaite, of the Warden's Office Herberton, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Crosthwaite, Rockhampton, was celebrated at St. Paul's Cathedral at 9.30a.m. Wednesday, 12th April. The service was conducted by the Rev. Archdeacon Rogers. The bride, who was given away by her brother (Mr. S. Hadkins), wore a pretty frock of white Kobe crepe, and a handsome wreath and veil, lent by a friend. She carried a shower bouquet, which, with a tourmaline and diamond pendant, was the gift of the bridegroom. Miss ??? Hadkins (sister of the bride), who acted as bridesmaid, wore a dainty frock of champagne Japanese satin. Her bouquet and aquamarine pendant were the gifts of the bridegroom. The gift of the bride to the bridegroom was a double Albert gold chain. Mr. Norman Crosthwaite (brother of the bridegroom), acted as the best man. After the ceremony the bridal party returned to the bride's home, where the wedding breakfast was served. The happy couple left by the midday train for Brisbane and Redcliffe, where the honeymoon will be spent, after which they will return to their future home in Herberton. North Queensland. The bride travelled in a Fuji silk dress, made with the coatee effect, with a hat to harmonise. | St Paul's Cathedral, Rockhampton, Queensland, AustraliaG |
