Marriage | 23 March 1929 | RICKET-CREASE. A picturesque wedding was celebrated in the Holy Trinity Church, Woolloongabba, on March 23, when Mr. William Arthur Ricket (late of Kent, England) was married to Miss Ethel May Crease (only daughter of Mrs. M. Crease and the late Mr. Arthur Crease, Twyford, Railway-terrace, Dutton Park). The Rev. R. B. Massey officiated. Miss D. Chessher presided at the organ, and during the signing of the register a vocal solo was rendered by Miss P. Chessher. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. S. A. Crease, wore a frock of salmon pink mariette, the bodice being heavily beaded in silver, with drawings of mariette from the shoulder, and trails of orange blossoms. The circular skirt was caught on the hips with large bows of tulle. Her picture hat of tulle drooped to the side, and was finished with pink and silver roses. She carried a bouquet of pink roses in fan effect, tied with pink and silver ribbon. Miss L. Warren attended as bridesmaid, and the little Misses Thelma and Hazel Crease (nieces of the bride) acted as flower girls. The bridesmaid was frocked in shell pink mariette, embroidered in tones to match. She wore a bandeau of silver and pink, and her bouquet was also in fan effect. The flower girls were frocked alike in shell pink mariette, with smocking on the shoulders, and frilled skirts. They carried baskets of pink roses, tied with pink ribbons. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. R. E. Crease (brother of the bride). The bride's mother wore a frock of black crepe de Chine, with a hat to match. She carried a bouquet of crimson roses. The reception was held at the home of the bride's mother. On leaving by the Bombala for their future home in Sydney the bride wore a frock of saxe blue crepe de Chine, relieved with cherry, with a Baku straw hat to tone. The bouquets were the work of Tress, Ltd. | Woolloongabba, Brisbane, Queensland, AustraliaG |
